Job Title: Pipe Welder/Fitter

Job Description

Lead and manage a team of pipe fitters in a climate-controlled shop, using blueprints and project prints to plan, lay out, and communicate job requirements clearly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of pipe fitters to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
• Review and interpret blueprints and prints to plan and lay out piping jobs accurately.
• Communicate job plans, priorities, and expectations clearly to the team.
• Coordinate daily work activities and allocate tasks based on project requirements and team strengths.
• Monitor progress of piping and fitting work, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
• Verify the quality and accuracy of completed pipe fitting and piping installations.
• Support and guide team members with technical questions related to pipe fitting and blueprint interpretation.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and adherence to facility procedures.
• Collaborate with other shop personnel to maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work area.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in pipe fitting in a field or shop environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and job prints.
• Strong knowledge of piping and fitting practices and standards.
• Effective leadership and team management skills.
• Clear verbal communication skills for directing and coordinating a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous pipefitting field experience.
• Experience working in a shop environment with structured workflows.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused setting.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled, clean shop with music playing, providing a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere throughout the workday. The facility is modern and well-maintained, offering a very nice workspace. Work is typically scheduled Monday through Friday, supporting a consistent routine in a structured shop environment focused on piping and fitting projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncan, SC.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Duncan,SC.
